Word List #5

Currently in my house now and the connection of internet is at the most excellent condition. And I feel very exuberant to update my blog, which have been delayed for many days. It is almost at the end of March. How fast the time travels, right ? It means that we only have at most 2 months to prepare for our SAT and TOEFL examination. I feel scared plus panicked plus having a stomach ache. Hahahaha. Do pray for us soon yaaaa ?
So lets proceed with our lesson.


1. ABSOLUTION

  • forgiveness, pardon. release.

  • He gives his absolution to the kid who had stolen his money because he is very poor.

2. BLATANT
  • obvious
Eg :
  • It is very blatant that he had cheated in the examination.

3. CREDITABLE
  • praiseworthy
Eg :
  • He had achieved a very creditable defeat.

4. ENSCONCE
  • establish firmly in a comfortable condition
Eg :
  • Agnes ensconced herself in their bedroom.

5. HASTEN
  • hurry, accelerate, rush
Eg :
  • The man is in hasten as he is late for the important meeting.

6. LACERATION
  • a deep cut in skin or flesh
Eg:
  • He suffered lacerations to his head and face.

7. OBDURATE
  • stubborn
Eg :
  • The boy is such an obdurate because he always against the rule.

8. PLAUSIBLE
  • can be believe, reasonable
Eg:
  • The defendant argument about the murdered case is plausible.

9. REPRIEVE
  • a respite, postponement of a punishment
Eg :
  • He accepted the death sentence and refused to appeal for a reprieve.

10. TAWDRY
  • a little value, gaudy
Eg ;
  • It is just a tawdry jewellery.
