Word List #3

Second day of activity week be like not too boring. I joined a game called netby, which the game combined netball and also rugby. We played netball by using rugby's ball. It sounded interesting and it was really interesting. I played the game and got injured on the first game. What a low self-esteem girl of me. Then in the evening, I continued hibernating in the room till night. What a very boring story. I can feel you. Hahaha.

1. ABASEMENT

  • Humiliation, degradation 

Eg :

  • The scene when he slips on the stairs in front of the reporters is the most abasement incident in his life.


2. BILLOWING

  • Swelling, fluttering, waving

Eg:

  • The curtains billowing in the breeze. 



3. COWER

  • Shrink away from, recoil in fear or servility, 

Eg :

  • The boy cowered under the table when the storm started.



4. ENHANCE

  • Improve, make better or clearer.

Eg:

  • Teachers suggested parents to buy the book to enhance their children’s performance in Language.

5. HARANGUE

  • Noisy, attacking speech

Eg :

  • The court becomes harangue when both sides trying to defense their clients.


6. LABYRINTH 

  • A maze

Eg:

  • There is a labyrinth near grandpa’s garden and I want to go there. 




7. NULLIFY

  • To counter, make unimportant

Eg :

  • The lecturer try to nullify the subject as it is very sensitive.


8. PLAINTIFF

  • Petitioner (in court law)

Eg :

  • The plaintiff try to defense her client in the court.


9. REPLETE
  • Full
Eg :

  • His mother asked him to replete the bowl with curry that she had made.


10. TANGIBLE

  • Can be touched

Eg :

  • The fruit is only tangible to a person who has a pure heart.
